Southwest Oregon is known for its mild climate. Average annual maximum temperature is 68.0, the summer months can get very hot. Annual minimum 40.9. Average annual precipitation is 29.5 inches. Snowfall is minimal - 2.3 inches per year in lower regions and in many years is non-existent. In higher mountain regions it is more. Ashland offers a ski resort in the winter, and there are also three other distinctive seasons. With its warm summers and mild climate, Southwest Oregon is an excellent place to garden and raise a family. The Rogue Valley is still known as "pear country," and you can see trees from the old orchards around town. The climate is also conducive to growing grapes, and there are several local award winning wineries & vineyards.

Southeast Oregon ranges from High deserts such as Klamath Falls & Lakeview to low, wide open valleys. Summers in Klamath County & Lake County are usually warm and dry with cool nights. Summer temperatures range between 75 to 90 degrees, but can get very hot. Fall provides the area with Indian Summers of crisp days with cold nights and mornings. Winter weather brings snow for a vast array of winter sports along with temperatures ranging from 25 to 40 degrees. Springs are mild with warm days. Average precipitation is 16 inches per year. The two counties have an approx average 265 days of sun and a growing season averaging 100 days a year.

The Oregon Coast in spring temperatures range from high 50s during day to low 40s at night with a good chance of rain. It can get quite windy so bring your kites and wind breakers. In summer temperatures range from 60-70s during day to high 50s at night. July, August and September are typically the driest months. In autumn temperatures range from mid/high 60s during day to low 40s at night. There is a good chance of rain in late autumn early winter. In winter- temperatures range from mid/high 40s to low 50s during day to mid 30s at night. The winter months bring on wonderful winter storms along the Oregon Coast. It is a wonder pastime to view the raging Pacific Ocean as the waves crash the on the shores.
